   OJSC “Yangel ore mining and processing enterprise" is situated in the north of Eastern Siberia, Nizhneilimsk district of Irkutsk region, has a license to develop Igirminskoe quartz sand field. Igirminskoe quartz sand field is one of the biggest in the world and its potential exceeds 10% of Russian reserves of quartz sand. Company has its own local railway length 36 km. Goods dispatch station is Rudnogorsk.

Мanufacture

   Quartz sand is extracted in an open-cut method. Silicon dioxide content in quartz material is no less than 98 %. The enterprise is always developing the scientific and technical basis and perfects the professional qualities of its employees.
The laboratory center, responsible for the quality of the production, has at its disposal contemporary equipment for defining the characteristics of the quartz sand.

History

   OJSC Yangel ore Mining and Processing Enterprise (Yangel MPE) counts history since 1962, time of the beginning of legendary Baikal-Amur highway construction.

   At present moment Igirma mine is one of the largest deposits. Its potential exceeds 10% of the all-Russian reserves of silica sand. Natural qualitative characteristics of extracted sand are unique and correspond to requirements of advanced modern technologies and branches, such as foundry, building, and porcelain-ceramics.

   Today Yangel MPE is the forming-town enterprise and it provides active development of all mining branches of East Siberia.
   In 2003 the Program of modernization and reconstruction of the manufacture was developed for the period till 2015. Its basic directions:
- Improvement of products quality due to reconstruction and modernization of manufacturing.
- Certification of manufacturing, on conformity to systems of quality management ISO 9001:2000;
- Inculcation of energy-keeping technologies, a decrease of costs.
- Renewal of the material base;
- Export increase;
- Bringing up to a new technological level: from traditional raw material to quartz-inclusive products manufacturing.
